(KLZA)-- A number of appointments and re-appointments were approved by the Auburn City Council this week. Included were three appointments to the Auburn Volunteer Fire Department who are going to help out with the Rescue Squad. Harold Silvey, Brent Lottman and Chris Erickson were appointed to the fire department. They will help out with driving the rescue squad during the period a number of the current squad members are recovering from recent surgeries.
The Auburn Recreation Committee members were all re-appointed.
The Council also approved an ordinance authorizing the sale of real estate at 1217 and 1221, 9th Street in Auburn. The parcels were recently auctioned off. A manager application for a liquor license for the Auburn ShopKo Hometown Store was given favorable comment.
Mallory Siebold presented a check to Mayor Scott Kudrna in the amount of $349 to be used for exercise stations along the trail to be built around the Auburn Recreation Complex. The funds were raised during the Auburn Community Olympics events earlier this year.
Mayor Kudrna also provided an update on the new Community Guide on the Auburn City website promoting economic development. NPPD helped develop the page designed to help recruit businesses and professionals to Auburn. Anyone can go on-line and look at or download the document.
