Decision 2014 is fast approaching, and that includes the election for the Kansas 62nd District House race, with incumbent Republican Randy Garber challenged by Democratic candidate Steve Lukert.
As a service of this radio station, and MSC News, both candidates have agreed to an on-air question and answer forum, which will be heard throughout the day on KNZA FM 103.9 and KMZA FM 92.1 from Sunday, October 19th through Monday, November 3rd. Each segment will feature both Garber and Lukert answering one question submitted from the public.
Questions will be accepted now through noon Tuesday, October 14th and can be emailed to votekansas@gmail.com. They can also be submitted through the U.S. Mail at KNZA, P.O. Box 104, Hiawatha, Kansas, 66434.
Each candidate also plans to submit one question that will be answered by his opponent.
The final decision on which ten questions will be asked will be decided by the staff of KNZA, Incorporated.
Candidates will not see the questions in advance of being asked to answer during a recorded question and answer session, with all answers to be kept to a maximum of 90-seconds.
Garber is seeking his third term in the seat.
Lukert formerly held the seat for five years, serving from 2006 until 2010.
The 62nd District includes Brown and Nemaha Counties, along with portions of Atchison and Jackson Counties.

I hope your station takes into account that there is more to talk about than just school funding. KPERS shortage, medicaid, roadways, law enforcement,s courts and list goes on. Thank you for doing this and keeping it equal for both sides.
