(KNZA)-- A former Brown County law enforcement officer convicted on aggravated battery charges has been placed on probation.
Dustin Mather, of Olathe, was given a suspended prison sentence Monday in Brown County District Court on two counts of aggravated battery and placed on 24-months supervised probation.
Mather pleaded no contest to the charges last month.
He was convicted of intentionally causing bodily harm to the same individual on two occasions last year—February 25th and March 5th. The victim is identified only in court documents by the initials S.M.
The case was prosecuted by the Kansas Attorney General’s office at the request of Brown County Attorney Kevin Hill.
Mather was a former officer with the Brown County Sheriff’s Department, Hiawatha Police Department and Kickapoo Tribal Police Department.
