(KLZA)-- The Auburn Board of Public Works will be testing fire hydrants October 14- 16 and 21 – 23.
All fire hydrants will be turned on to make certain they are in good condition going into winter.
There are 192 fire hydrants to be tested. High velocity flushing removes any sediment that may have settled in the water mains. Customers may find temporary discoloration of the water during these periods. This is normal and the water remains safe to drink. However, before washing clothes on these days, check the water for clarity. If the water is not clear, let the water run until it is clear and then wash clothes.
