(KNZA)--Downtown Hiawatha will be alive Saturday as the annual Maple Leaf Festival is set to happen, with vendors, from far and near, scheduled to show, and sell, their wares around the Courthouse Square.
Sponsored by the Hiawatha Chamber of Commerce, the festival begins at 9:00, and will again be held in conjunction with Heritage Day, courtesy of the Brown County Historical Society.
Director Eric Oldham says numerous events, and demonstrations, are planned for the day.
The day’s events will kick off with the 13th annual Missy Newell Memorial Run and Walk, with registration starting at 7. The run will start at 8.
Following the festival, Community Family Fun Day begins at 3 on the courthouse lawn. The event sponsored by three local churches will feature live music, food and games for all ages.
