(KNZA)--The Doniphan County Commission is considering placing restrictions on the operation of all-terrain vehicles on county roads.
Discussion was held on the issue at this week’s Commission meeting, with Commissioner David Van Laar saying he had received several complaints about their use on county roads.
Sheriff Chad Clary told Commissioners ATV’s are currently allowed on county roads, however drivers must obey all traffic laws. ATV’s are prohibited on state and federal highways.
The Commission asked County Clerk Peggy Franken to contact the cities within the county along with other counties for copies of resolutions or ordinances put into place limiting the travel or use of ATV’s on roadways, for their consideration.
