(KNZA)--A Doniphan County man facing charges in connection with an injury accident in July now faces an additional charge of DUI.
The Kansas Chief reports the additional charge was filed against 49-year-old Dean Cochran after he allegedly showed up intoxicated for a court hearing in the case last week.
Cochran is charged with aggravated battery, driving under the influence and unlawful transportation of an open container of alcohol in connection with the July 20th accident in the Blair area that injured 38-year-old Dee Anna Kelley.
The Doniphan County Sheriff’s Department says Kelley was walking on 190th Road when she was struck by a pickup driven by Cochran. Kelley was transported to Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph for treatment of injuries.
Cochran’s bond was revoked on the three original charges and a 25-hundred dollar bond was set on the charge in the new case. Cochran was arrested and confined in the Doniphan County Jail. He is scheduled to make his next court appearance in both cases on October 13th.
