(KNZA)--The Brown County Commission has approved the purchase of additional equipment for the Rescue Squad’s new truck.
Squad President Duke Koerperich met with the Commission Monday to request nearly $11,000 in additional equipment for the truck, which is currently on order.
Following discussion, the Commission agreed to pay for about $5,800 worth of the equipment, with the Rescue Squad responsible for the remainder.
The Commission approved the purchase of the new truck in July at a cost of just over $159,000, which the county is funding.
The new truck will replace the existing late 1990’s truck, which Squad members say isn’t very efficient.
The Rescue Squad, which is manned by volunteers, responds to all major calls in the county---including injury wrecks and structure fires.
