(KAIR)--One KAIR listener walked away $1,000 richer after Saturday night's 75th anniversary block party event.
Throughout the summer, KAIR has been holding various remotes around the listening area, encouraging listeners to sign up for a chance to become one of thirty finalists for the money.
Leota Flory was drawn as a finalist at not just one of those remotes, but two. Her name was drawn July 4th at the Atchison County Raceway remote at ALPS as well as the September 5th remote at Mainstreet Restaurant in Nortonville.
Flory, along with the other finalists, had a chance to choose a record at the block party, one of which held the $1,000 prize, and gave it's holder a chance to spin the KAIR prize wheel for a shot at $25,000.
Flory held two records since she was a two time finalist, and she says that it took her some time to realize that she had won, even after looking at both of her records. She did not notice the winning notification when she opened the first record, but decided to check it again when she realized that no one else had stepped forward as a winner.
Flory says that she does have some plans for the money. She will pay off a few bills, as well as take her husband out for a nice dinner.
