(KLZA)-- 320 people attended The Nebraska Diplomats Passport Weekend CEO Roundtable and evening banquet in Lincoln last Friday.
The Diplomats hosted company representatives from Belgium, California, China, Colorado, Illinois, Japan, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio, Spain, and Texas.
Governor Dave Heineman presented the Diplomats’ annual awards during the Friday evening banquet:
Watkins Aircraft Support Products Inc. (WASP) of Falls City along with Hexagon-Lincoln and NebraskaLand National Bank of North Platte were named the Businesses of the Year.
WASP is currently celebrating the companies 25th year in business in Falls City. The company is 100% Employee Owned, serving major airlines and package conveyor companies worldwide. WASP also provides trailers to the United States military.
At the Falls City location WASP has 92 employees with more than 300 company-wide.
This year the company is investing a half-million dollars in their Falls City building and equipment and plan to install a 275 ton press/brake in the fabrication area, a new state of the art air compressor and a 40 x 60 foot building expansion is also underway.
