(KLZA)-- The Auburn City Council this week received a budget proposal from Mayor Scott Kudrna.
Fire trucks have been discussed several times in the past few months and grant applications have been submitted for the purchase of two new trucks. $74,000 has been sent aside in a sinking fund account to use toward the purchase of a new fire truck. If the grants are received, Auburn’s required match would be $57,000.
Mayor Kudrna says the priority is a pumper truck which will be purchased one way or another.
The Council also heard a report from Dave Farje with Olsson Associates concerning a Recreation Facilities Master Plan for the community. The Parks and Pool Committee will prioritize any improvements that are to be made to the facilities.
One of the suggestions in the plant was to build a disc golf course, which was recently completed in Auburn.
In other business the council approved a request from Sonia Kistner to use a parking lot along Highway 136 October 3rd – 5th for the Trail of Treasures event.
An ordinance granting Black Hills Energy a natural gas franchise and gas distribution system was tabled for now.
