(KMZA)--A informational meeting will be held Monday evening to discuss a proposed new jail for Nemaha County, Kansas.
Sheriff Rich Vernon says the meeting will take place at 7 at the Pioneer Building located at 710 Pioneer Street in Seneca, and the public is encouraged to attend.
A representative from Treanor Architects will be present to talk about the proposed jail construction project along with commissioners and Vernon.
Being proposed is a 34-bed “ pod-style” jail covering 15,000-square-feet at an estimated cost of $3.5 to $4 million, which the county plans to finance through existing capital outlay funds.
