(KNZA)--Holton High School receives $3,000 through the efforts of three agriculture education students.
The monies are allocated by the Kansas Department of Agriculture by way of the Kansas Agriculture Skills and Competencies Certificate.
According to a press release from the Kansas Department of Ag, the certificate recognizes Ag-education students who demonstrate excellence and a well-rounded experience by meeting the requirements of the agriculture education model.
The certificate is listed as a qualifying certificate for Governor Sam Brownback's Career Technical Education initiative, and is endorsed by leading industry organizations and employers.
A total of nine Kansas schools shared a portion of the $38,000 designated for the program.
Names of the individual students receiving the honor are not being made public.
