(KNZA)--Details are released regarding the Brown County crop dusting airplane crash that happened Friday morning north of Fairview.
Interim Undersheriff Randy Linck says pilot Daren Ronnebaum, of Seneca, was flying the plane, owned by Precision Aerial AG, of Seneca, when the engine began to sputter.
Ronnebaum attempted to land on Coyote Road, just over a mile north of U.S. Highway 36, when the plane stalled, forcing a hard landing.
That caused the plane to bounce when it hit the ground, which sent the airplane into a ditch where it struck a light pole.
Ronnebaum was not hurt.
Linck says the pilot wasn't actively spraying when the crash happened shortly before 9:00, but was flying from a completed job to his next assignment.
