(KAIR)--Details are released regarding the arrest of a Jackson County suspect, taken into custody for fleeing on foot from authorities Sunday night.
Sheriff Tim Morse says 27-year-old Alan Joseph McBride, Jr, of Waverly, Kentucky, was stopped for a traffic infraction near 150th and Q Road.
During the traffic stop, it's alleged that marijuana was spotted in the vehicle, sending McBride running. Attempts to taser him by a Sheriff's Deputy and a Potawatomi Tribal Police Officer were unsuccessful, with McBride able to escape into a nearby wooded area.
A search, including the use of a Kansas Highway Patrol aircraft, followed, but hours went by with McBride remaining free,
On Wednesday, McBride was spotted in the vicinity of where he disappeared and was arrested.
Morse says McBride was covered in bug bites when apprehended, having stayed in the woods since Sunday.
He was arrested on charges of felony possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, felony interference with law enforcement and battery on a law enforcement officer.
McBride remains in the Jackson County jail where he's held on $50,000 bond.
