(KLZA)-- A second trial has been scheduled for a southeast Nebraska high school teacher accused of having sex with a student.
Former Johnson County Central teacher, Carrie Miller entered a plea of not guilty in Johnson County District Court Monday to a charge of sexual assault of a minor. The 24-year-old Miller is scheduled for a jury trial to begin September 10th.
Miller is accused of carrying on a sexual relationship with a 15-year old male student while she was teaching Spanish at Johnson County Central High School in Tecumseh.
Miller previously pleaded not guilty to five counts of sexual assault of a minor in Nemaha County, Nebraska. Authorities allege Miller and the same male student had sexual contact 50 to 60 times from October 2012 through October 2013 at an abandoned farmstead in Nemaha County.
A jury trial is scheduled to begin in Nemaha County on August 13th.
At least one of the sexual encounters is alleged to have occurred in Johnson County.
If convicted, Miller faces up to 50 years in prison.
