(KNZA)--A two-vehicle wreck north of Holton has claimed the life of an elderly Holton woman.
In a news release, Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse said 83-year-old Donna Faye Johnson died Monday from injuries received in the wreck Sunday afternoon shortly before 4 at the intersection of U.S. 75 Highway and 286th Road.
Morse said Johnson was a passenger in a car driven by her husband, Donald, that was struck by a southbound car as it crossed the intersection heading west.
The southbound vehicle, driven by Hiawatha resident Jeffery Winters, struck the passenger side of Johnson’s vehicle.
Donna Johnson was taken to Topeka’s Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center, where she died.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 at the First Christian Church in Holton.
