(KNZA)--The Brown County Rescue Squad is looking at purchasing a new emergency rescue truck.
Squad President Duke Koerperich and Vice-President Terry Schmidt met with Brown County Commission on Monday to discuss the need for a new truck.
Following discussion, Koerperich was directed to submit bid specifications for a new truck, and the county will advertise for bids.
The new truck will replace the existing late 90’s truck. Schmidt said the existing truck isn’t very efficient.
The Rescue Squad, which is manned by volunteers, responds to all major calls in the county—including injury wrecks and structure fires. The unit is equipped with the “ Jaws of Life”-- a tool used to free people from mangled cars and burning or collapsed buildings.
