(KAIR)--A vehicle stolen in Kansas City three months ago has been found burned in Atchison County.
According to Atchison County Sheriff Jack Laurie, a Nissan Maxima was found parked on Philips Road, just north of Ottawa Road just after 5:30 Saturday evening. It appeared to have been set on fire.
Laurie says officials waited until the road dried before towing the vehicle to R&S Automotive, where employees assisted them in looking for a Vehicle Identification Number. The VIN was located soon after, and it was determined that the vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of a Kansas City restaurant on March 14th.
The investigation into who may have participated in the theft is ongoing.
