(KNZA)--The American Cancer Society will host the annual Relay for Life of Brown County Friday evening ( June 6th )hat the Hiawatha High School track.
This year’s theme is “ Relay for a New Day...A New Beginning”.
The six-hour event, from 6:01 p.m. to 12:01 a.m., will continue to celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and raise money for the fight against cancer.
Beginning at 7, all cancer survivors are invited to participate as guests of honor by walking the victory lap immediately following the opening ceremony. Those who plan to take part are asked to report to the High School track around 6:30 to register.
The Relay event will also include a luminaria ceremony at 10, and a fight back ceremony at 11:40.
Other highlights include performances by local dancers, a silent auction, food concessions, children’s games and more.
