Northwest To Host Annual Summer Music, Athletics Camps
Northwest Missouri State University will host a summer camp to help middle and high school students develop their musical talents.
“Summer music camp is an annual tradition that allows students to receive specialized training in music from faculty members who have tremendous talent and expertise in education and performance,” said Dr. Kendell Prinz, music camp director and assistant professor of music at Northwest.
The middle and high school Choir and Band Camp Sunday, scheduled for Sunday, June 15, through Friday, June 20, will give students the opportunity to make music with students from other schools who share their love and enthusiasm for music. Campers will take lessons on the instrument of their choice, attend classes about music theory and composition, and play in a band composed of other campers.
The camp costs $420 for campers who will live on the Northwest campus during the week or $350 for day campers. The deadline for payment and online or mail-in application is Friday, June 13. For more information, visit www.northwestmusiccamp.com.
In addition, Northwest will host a variety of athletic camps beginning in June and continuing through August. For more information on specific athletic camps, go to www.bearcatsportscamps.com.
