(KAIR)--Atchison Police arrested two men early Wednesday morning after an incident of road rage ended in a physical confrontation.
Police Chief Mike Wilson says it all started just after 7:00 when a vehicle traveling eastbound on US 59 Highway stopped in the roadway near the 1400 block so both the driver and the passenger, 29-year-old Peter Marin of Rushville could speak to an individual who was walking on the edge of the road. A second vehicle, driven by 49-year-old Rodney Orr of Atchison came up behind the first vehicle and was forced to stop as well. The two vehicles continued east on US 59, with Orr maneuvering in front of the first vehicle, causing it to slow. The two vehicles continued to interact with each other before stopping at a traffic signal on the corner of US 59 and Tenth Street in Atchison.
Orr and Marin then exited their vehicles and allegedly started to assault each other, with Marin allegedly striking Orr with a pipe.
Police quickly arrived on the scene and arrested both men.
Marin is facing one count each of aggravated battery and disorderly conduct, while Orr is facing one count each disorderly conduct and battery.
