04/30/2014

(KMZA)--A May 6th preliminary hearing has been set for a 19-year-old Seneca man, accused of a sex crime involving a 14-year-old girl.

David Kaup, Jr. faces a charge of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.

He was arrested last week following an investigation by the Seneca Police Department.

Police Chief Brent Schulte says the crime is alleged to have happened, in Seneca, on April 4th.

Schulte says the girl and Kaup were acquaintances at the time of the alleged crime.

Kaup remains in the Nemaha County Jail on $50,000 bond.
