(KAIR)--The Atchison Police Department is investigating a series of mysterious vehicle thefts that took place over the past few weeks in the city.
Police Chief Mike Wilson says that in two of the four thefts, the vehicle was left unlocked with the keys still inside, and a third was taken after its keys were taken from the key rack in the body shop where it was parked.
There was no damage found on the vehicle, though the amount of dirt on the exterior showed that it had been recently driven. It was returned to the shop before it was noticed missing.
A fourth vehicle was secured and no keys were left inside. Police are unsure how entry was made.
Wilson says it is too early in the investigation to determine if the cases are related.
