Nemaha Co. Provides Funding to NEK Environmental Services
(KMZA)--Nemaha County has agreed to provide continued funding to Northeast Kansas Environmental Services.
Representatives of the organization met with the Nemaha County Commission Monday to present their annual report and request continued financial support from the county.
In Nemaha County, 26 new permits were issued for private wastewater management systems and three private wells were inspected.
Following discussion, the commission voted to appropriate $10,000 to the organization for 2014, which is the same amount the county has provided since 2008.
Northeast Kansas Environmental Services serves five counties—including Atchison, Brown, Doniphan and Nemaha.
