(KNZA)--A Nortonville woman is dead, killed in a double vehicle Easter Sunday crash on Jefferson County's Osage Road.
The victim is identified as 71-year-old Margaret Schuler, a passenger in a southbound Toyota Camry driven by 71-year-old Don Schuler, of Nortonville.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says he failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection with K-4 Highway, causing the collision with the other car that was traveling northeast on the highway, sending himself, and 5 occupants of the other vehicle, for hospitalized treatment.
Schuler was transported to Topeka's Stormont-Vail, along with the driver of the other vehicle, 15-year-old Alyissa Berglund, of Atchison, who suffered possible injuries.
Three other passengers in her car, 9-year-old Amber Forbes, of Atchison, 17-year-old Mary Wilks and 36-year-old Debbie Russell, both of Topeka, were all transported to Stormont-Vail with disabling injuries. 4-year-old Benjamin Forbes was also taken there with possible injuries, while one-year-old Evan Forbes was not hurt. The Patrol has revised their initial report to clarify that everyone involved in the wreck was properly restrained.
The Patrol says the fatal crash happened around 4:30 Sunday afternoon.
