(KNZA)-- A May 7th sentencing date has been set for a former Elwood man charged with the rape of a female child under the age of 14.
39-year-old Independence, Missouri resident Daniel Ray Hawkins recently pleaded “ no contest” in Doniphan County District Court to the felony charge.
As part of a plea agreement, two other felony counts—aggravated criminal sodomy and aggravated assault—were dismissed.
Hawkins was arrested last September following an investigation by the Elwood Police Department.
Following his arraignment, the Kansas Chief reports Hawkins bond was revoked and he was ordered back to the Doniphan County Jail.
