(KAIR)--Area residents will have one more opportunity to meet with state legislators this weekend.
The Atchison Chamber of Commerce is preparing for the third and final event in a series of Legislative Coffee and Doughnuts forums that will bring local residents face to face with state lawmakers. Chamber President Jacque Pregont says this final forum comes as the current legislative session heads towards it's conclusion. She says that because most bills have worked their way through either the House or Senate, people now have a better idea on what is going on, and can have one last chance to influence a legislator to vote the way they think they should.
Pregont says that so far, only Democratic State Representative Jerry Henry has confirmed he will be attending.
The final Legislative Forum event will take place Saturday morning at 9:00 at the Santa Fe Depot, located at 200 South Tenth Street in Atchison. It is free, and open to the public.
