(KLZA) -- The 4th annual Southeast Nebraska Polar Plunge will take place at 2 p-m Saturday at Legion Memorial Park in Auburn. Proceeds from the event will support intellectually disabled athletes who are part of Special Olympics Nebraska.
Those taking part will jump from a platform into an industrial-sized dumpster. Stairs are available for use to get out.
Walk-up registrations will be accepted until noon at the Auburn Senior Center.
Following the plunge a post-plunge party will be held at El Portal Mexican Restaurant. Prizes will be given out during the party.
