The February meeting of the Missouri River Watershed Restoration and Protection Strategy (WRAPS) will be held Thursday, February 20th, 2010 at 10:00 am at the 4-H Building, 210 North Main, Troy, Ks.
A representative from the Kansas Water Office will be on hand to hear citizen input and update citizens on the progress of the Governor's 50 Year Vision for Water in Kansas. This vision is intended to guide policy and funding for government programs in Kansas for the next 50 years.
Everyone who is uses water or is interested water policy and water quality is encouraged to attend and participate in the discussions.
The Missouri River Basin WRAPS is one of 44 WRAPS programs throughout the State of Kansas representing the various watersheds within the state. The Missouri River WRAPS is a stakeholder guided effort to address water resources concerns within the Missouri River Basin in Kansas. These concerns include water quality, public water supply protection, erosion, and wetland and riparian habitat protection or restoration to improve the quality and sustainability of the watershed. The Missouri River Basin includes portions of Marshall, Nemaha, Brown, Doniphan, Atchison, Leavenworth, and Wyandotte County.
