HTRS Building Project Moving Forward
02/12/2014

(KTNC) -- The Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer School Board continued discussion on a proposed addition to the north of the High School in Humboldt during Monday’s meeting.
Superintendent Clint Kimbrough says Gary Cooper and architect Larry Chilese presented the latest information on the project and what the building might look like.
The board chose Ameritas to advise them on financing the project, and voted to retain Gary Cooper as an advisor. Kimbrough says they’re taking steps to move the project forward.
The HTRS Board also continued discussion about starting an FFA program. Kimbrough says they’re going to schedule an assembly where state FFA officers and representatives from the University of Nebraska will present information about the program to students and district patrons.
The board changed the school calendar. March 7, which had been a no-school day, will now be a school day to make up for days lost due to recent winter weather.
Kimbrough says the board will hold a special meeting at 4:00 p.m. on March 5. They’ll meet then to hear presentations from three companies hoping to lead the district’s Superintendent search. Kimbrough is retiring after the next school year.
