(KTNC) -- Third District Congressman Adrian Smith visited Falls City Friday. Smith spoke to Falls City High School students early Friday afternoon then met with people at the Falls City Chamber of Commerce office later in the day.
Smith voted for the Farm Bill, which was signed into law by President Obama last week. Smith says the law doesn't address all the items he would have liked, but he says those can be handled in the future. He favors the shift to crop insurance and says passage of the five-year Farm Bill allows farmers to plan accordingly.
Among issues that weren’t addressed in the Farm Bill, Smith says he’s concerned about trade issues as they pertain to livestock.
Smith, who is a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, says he’s working on tax reform legislation that he says would lower tax rates, get rid of loopholes, and would benefit the economy.
