Utility Bill Scam Hits Falls City

 (KLZA) -- Scammers have now attempted to fool customers of the Falls City Utility Department, using incorrect information to claim bills are past due and an immediate payment is needed. 

Falls City Utility Superintendent Alan Romine clarifies the legitmate procecure, saying that if you have a home or business that is in danger of having utilities shut down, you will be receiving a notice in the mail.  Once you receive the disconnect notice in the mail,  you than have 7 days to pay the bill before utilities would be disconnected.   

If you receive a suspected scam call,  you may contact City Hall or the Falls City Police Department.
