(KNZA)--Two women charged in a Brown County identity fraud and phone harrassment case waived their preliminary hearings Wednesday.
23-year-old Troy resident Molly Smith was bound over to Brown County District Court on seven counts of identity fraud, criminal threat and harassment by telephone. Arraignment was scheduled for March 7th before District Judge Jim Patton.
22-year-old Hiawatha resident Amanda Gunderson was bound over to District Court on three counts. Arraignment is set for March 3rd before District Judge John Weingart.
Smith is accused of assuming a fake identity in order to text various individuals in the Hiawatha area, allegedly sending harassing and threatening messages. Gunderson is accused of aiding and abetting Smith.
The two women were arrested last November following an investigation by the Brown County Sheriff’s Department.
Both remain free on bond.
