(KLZA) -- A 37-year-old Salem, Nebraska man has been arrested by the Richardson County Sheriff’s Office following an investigation of a reported sexual assault of a child.
Sergeant Lewis Barker and Deputy Chuck DiGiacomo with the Richardson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call early Thursday, January 16th, which reported a 13 year old female had been raped.
After interviewing several individuals, Anthony Barton was arrested and booked into the Richardson County Jail. Formal charges have not been filed at this time. Barton is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, January 22nd.
The victim, who resides in Kansas, was visiting Barton’s residence with other family members when the alleged sexual assault occurred. The investigation is ongoing.
