(KMZA)--Footprints in the snow lead Sabetha Police Officers to the home of a man wanted in connection with a weekend burglary.
Accused of the crime is 20-year-old Christopher Volle, booked into the Nemaha County Jail on a charge of burglary after he was located by authorities.
Police Chief Robert Wahwasuck the case began around 12:30 Saturday morning in the Country Mart parking lot, where a witness reported seeing a man run north following the reported burglary of a vehicle parked in the lot.
Armed with a thorough description of the suspect provided by the witness, police tracked the footprints in the snow for five city blocks until they ended at an apartment where Volle answered the door when police knocked.
Wahwasuck says a short interview with Volle was followed by an investigation that led officers to items allegedly stolen from the vehicle inside his residence.
Volle was arrested at the scene and transported to the jail.
