(KNZA)--A rural Jackson County home was destroyed by fire Sunday evening.
Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse says the sheriff’s office received a 911 call shortly after 7 Sunday evening reporting a house fire at 14655 X-4 Road.
Responding to the scene were the Mayetta Fire Department, Hoyt Fire Department, Potawatomi Tribal Fire Department, Jackson County EMS, and Jackson County Sheriff’s office.
Morse says responders underwent sub-freezing temperatures in battling the fire.
He says the occupants of the residence were not at home at the time of the fire.
