Missouri Corn Growers to Meet In January
(KLZA) -- The Missouri Corn Growers Association will be holding an informational meeting for corn growers. The meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 13, beginning with registration at 8:30 A.M. The meeting will be held at the Ramada Inn in St. Joseph and the will begin at 9:00 A.M. All Missouri farmers as well as those from adjoining states, are welcome to attend.
The keynote speaker of the meeting will be San Basse, President of Ag Resource. He will discuss marketing issues and will provide a market outlook. His company is located in Chicago and is recognizes as one of the leading market services.
A legislative update will be provided by a representative from Congressman Sam Graves’ office. This is an opportunity to hear the Congressman’s view of what is happening in Washington.
Tim Reinbott, Superintendent of the Bradford MU Research Center, will be discussing cover crops and how to manage these on a corn and soybean cropping system.
Bryce Anderson, DTN, will provide a weather outlook for 2014. Bryce is well known and respected for his weather forecasting skills.
Dr. Dallas Peterson, K-State Research and Extension, will discuss glyphosate resistance weed management and provide an update on a new weed, Palmer Amarantha.
Estate law changes are important with land ownership. Steven Briggs, Attorney of Law, will discuss changes and provide an update on estate taxes.
Next, representatives from the Corn Growers will provide updates and important information to their membership scattered throughout the meeting.
