(KMZA)-- The Nemaha County Commission has appropriated funding from the Broxterman Estate funds for two causes.
Following discussion at last week’s meeting, the commission voted to appropriate $15,000 to the Northeast Kansas Infant Toddler Tiny-K program. The program provides early intervention services for developmentally delayed infants and toddlers in northeast Kansas.
The commission also approved a request from Kristi Hutfles for up to 26-hundred from the Broxterman Estate funds for a portable, wireless wheelchair scale.
In other business, Leroy Koehn with the Kansas Department of Transportation met with the commission to discuss the state’s plans to replace a bridge on Highway 63 north of Seneca. Koehn said he anticipates construction of the new bridge to begin in February or March.
And further discussion was held with County Attorney Brad Lippert regarding the possible hiring of a county counselor for Nemaha County, but a final decision wasn’t made.
