(KNZA)--The former Atchison Juvenile Correctional Facility property has been sold to a private developer.
The Kansas State Finance Council Thursday approved the sale of the grounds and buildings to Kansas City, Mo. based Creative Development LLC for $500,000.
The developer may create an international private school on the property, but that is only one option.
The buildings, some dating to the 1930’s and in disrepair, have been vacant since 2009.
