(KAIR)--For the past twenty six years, Maur Hill-Mount Academy has celebrated Advent with the Lights of Love Celebration. The event features outside luminaries, lit Christmas trees, and a candlelight procession to begin the Eucharist. Spokeswoman for the President Caylon Lanfermann adds that there is another special part of the celebration. There will be a remembrance tree which will be decorated with ornaments of the friends and alumni of the school that have passed.
The mass will also feature Maur Hill alumni Tom Jacobs leading the music liturgy for the Eucharist. Jacobs is an Atchison native is a recording artist and composer. The mass will be followed by a wine and cheese reception.
The Lights of Love Celebration will be held this Sunday evening at 5:00 in the St. Maur chapel on the Maur Hill-Mount Academy campus. It is free and open to the public.
