(KTNC) - University of Nebraska Extension is sponsoring two Landlord-Tenant Lease Workshops in southeast Nebraska next week.
Both workshops will be held on Monday, with the first from 9:00 a.m. till Noon at the 4-H Building on the Nemaha County Fair Grounds in Auburn. A second meeting will be held from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the First National Bank building basement in downtown Syracuse.
UNL Extension educators Allan Vyhnalek and Monte Vandeveer will lead the workshops. Topics that will be covered include: the latest information about land values and cash rental rates for this area and the state; expectations from the lease; lease termination; alternative cash lease arrangements, including flex leases; and communication between landlord and tenant.
Nemaha County Extension educator Gary Lesoing says the information will benefit both landlords and tenants, and they recommend that landlords and tenants attend the meeting together if possible.
The workshop is free, but participation is limited. Those who plan to attend the workshop need to register by Friday to ensure there are enough materials available.
To register for the Auburn workshop, contact the Nemaha County Extension Office at 402-274-4755. To sign up for the Syracuse workshop, contact the Otoe County Extension Office at 402-269-2301.
