Horton Luminarias Planned Sunday
11/30/2013

(KNZA)--A tradition of more than two decades, highlighting the reason why Christmas is celebrated, is planned in Horton on Sunday.

Father Sylvester D'Souza, Pastor of Horton's Saint Leo's Church, says the Christmas Luminarias provides a living view of the life of Jesus Christ, serving as a reminder of God's gift of love incarnate.

The Christmas Luminarias, marking its 23rd year in Horton, depicts the story of Jesus in live scenes over a ten block area of the Brown County community.

Presented through cooperation of area Horton churches, and sponsored by the South Brown County Ministerial Association, the Luminarias is viewed by spectators who drive by the live scenes, which begin at 14th and Central Avenue, as 1400 lighted candles illuminate the path.

The Christmas Luminarias will run be held from 5:30 until 8:00 Sunday evening; and while admission is free, a free will donation will be accepted at the end of the route.
