BCBS NE will Renew Current Health Care Policies
(KTNC)--Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska will allow policyholders the option of keeping plans that were previously canceled under the Affordable Care Act.
According to Tom Gilsdorf, the company's Director of Product Development, they are currently in the process of notifying customers of their decision.
Jerry Byers, Blue Cross Senior Vice President of Finance says they are working to determine the premium rates for those who want to continue a current policy. He says rates are likely to be higher than 2013 premiums, but that will vary by individual.
Byers says people will have to move to an ACA-compliant plan to get premium assistance.
The decision will impact about 46,000 Blue Cross Blue Shield contract holders in Nebraska.
