(KAIR)--An Atchison area man is behind bars after being arrested on a warrant out of Buchanan County.
According to Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson, officers responded to call of suspicious activity at a vacant residence on the 1200 block of pacific around 12:20 Sunday afternoon. When officers arrived, they discovered 31-year old Andrew Vandruff and an unidentified female backed up to the residence where there female had previously lived. The couple was not supposed to be there, but the landlord did not wish to press charges. However, when officers ran a check it was discovered that there had been a warrant issued for Vandruff out of Buchanan county.
Vandruff was taken into custody on the warrant, which stated that Vandruff was wanted for dangerous drugs. Wilson says that dangerous drugs could mean anything from possession to sale. The Atchison police department does not have access to the warrant itself, so could not ascertain what was specifically meant by the term.
Vandruff was transported to the Atchison County Jail. No bond information is available at this time.
