(KAIR)---A cease and desist order has been issued against an Atchison based business firm by the Kansas Securities Commission.
According to a press release from Securities Commissoner Josh Ney, Robert Beene and Sidelight Entertainment Group, Inc., has allegedly committed multiple violations of the Kansas Uniform Securities Act.
According to Ney, Sidelight is a private, for-profit corporation that has been previously registered or known by other names, including Global Warrior Challenge and Pickerswarehouse, Inc.
The Cease and desist order alleges that Beene, and his company, violated the act by offering and selling unregistered securities and committing securities fraud by omitting certain material facts.
Included among the unregistered securities were Pay-Per-View Buy-In “points" for the Global Warrior Challenge held at Kansas City's Sprint Center on June 29th. Described as a group of mixed martial arts, including matches between the United States and the United Kingdom, points were sold to the public for $5,000 each. At least one Kansas investor made a purchase.
It's alleged that Beene, at the time of the purchase, failed to disclose what the order identifies only as a material fact which violated the Kansas Uniform Securities Act.
Beene and Sidelight Entertainment have the right to request a hearing within 30 days.
