Hiawatha Halloween Frolic Set For Wednesday

(KNZA)--A Wednesday filled with the thrills and chills of Halloween lie in store for the community of Hiawatha, as the 99th annual “Out of This World” Halloween Frolic, is set to take place.

Among the activities of the Halloween themed day will be, as tradtion holds, two parades, with the first happening at 3:00 in the afternoon for the kiddie's followed by the evening's grand parade at 7:00.

Chamber of Commerce Administrator Stacy Babb says Hiawatha motorists must be aware that the well traveled Oregon street will be shut down beginning Wednesday morning at 11:00, remaining closed until 9:00 that night. That's due to early planning for next year's 100th annual Halloween Frolic.

Prior to the evening's parade, the traditional crowning of the Halloween Queen will take place at 6:30.

Hiawattha children will also be trick or treating as part of the Halloween tradition.

While they can do that at participating businesses on Wednesday, this year's two trick or treat nights are set for Tuesday and Thursday.
