Nemaha Co Sheriff Warns of Asphalt-Related Scam
(KMZA)-- The Nemaha County, KS Sheriff is warning residents of an asphalt-related scam being reported in the area.
Sheriff Rich Vernon says the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department alerted his office of the scam. He says individuals are going to homes offering to asphalt a resident's driveway with extra asphalt they have leftover from other jobs. Vernon says they quote one price, but after the job is done charge a higher price.
Vernon says the scam have been around for several years, and usually surfaces this time of year. He says the Kansas Attorney General's office has been contacted about the scam.
Vernon reminds residents to always use caution when conducting business with anyone doing sales in this manner.
