Nebraska Harvest Update
(AP) - Nebraska farmers are working on harvesting their crops, but the USDA says the work is going slower than normal because of recent precipitation.
The U.S. Agriculture Department says farmers and ranchers had only about 4.7 days suitable for fieldwork last week because of the cool and wet weather.
About 32 percent of the corn crop has been harvested. That's behind the average of 44 percent at this point.
About 68 percent of the corn crop is in good or excellent shape.
About 80 percent of the soybeans have been harvested. That's close to the average of 81 percent.
And 69 percent of the soybean crop was in good or excellent condition.
