Information Session Set To Prevent Elder Exploitation

(KAIR)--Unfortunately, older adults are often the target of financial fraud, with most victims having no idea they were being taken advantage of. The Atchison public library, located at 401 Kansas Avenue, is holding an informational session that seeks to educate older adults and their caregivers on the dangers financial abuse and exploitation of older adults.

According to a release from the library, participants will understand and learn how to prevent identity theft, learn the signs and risk factors of financial abuse, and experience saying no to potential scams.

The session will start at 10:00 Thursday morning, and will end at noon. Registration will start at 9:30, with also being served at that time. The event is free and open to everyone.
